Osaka Gas Singapore PTE Limited (OGS) has signed an agreement with Sumitomo and Japan Overseas Infrastructure Investment Corporation for Transport & Urban Development (JOIN) for investment in AG&P LNG Marketing Limited to expand its city gas distribution (CGD) coverage in India
The investment will be made by a Japanese consortium collectively owned by OGS, Sumitomo and JOIN.
AG&P LNG has been developing CGD infrastructure in 12 geographic areas (GA) under AG&P Pratham brand name, focusing mainly on the southern Indian suburbs, With this investment, It plans to extend its operations in seven more GAs, branded as Think Gas2, targeting urban areas in north and central India. The combined area of these 19 GAs accounts for roughly 320,000 square km, equivalent to around 10 per cent of the country’s total land area.
