The North-East natural gas pipeline is likely to be operational by 2026.

The gas pipeline grid involves development, operation and maintenance (O&M) of a 1,656 km natural gas pipeline connecting eight states viz. Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim and Tripura. It is being implemented by IGGL, a joint venture (JV) company of Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL), Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited (ONGC), GAIL (India) Limited, Oil India Limited (OIL) and Numaligarh Refinery Limited (NRL). It entails an investment of Rs 92.65 billion.
