In a recent development, an automatic compressed biogas (CBG) plant is ready to be set up in Sector 123 for the first time. The plant will be disposing 200 metric tonnes of wet waste in the city every day. The plant will be built at an investment of Rs 2 billion in a public-private partnership model. It will be producing 8,000 kg of CBG along with 50 tonnes of organic manure daily. Further, the CBG produced can also be used as a fuel in gas-powered vehicles. More than 10 acres of land have been identified in Sector 123 of Noida for operating this plant.
