The Nashik Municipal Corporation (NMC) will provide land to Maharashtra Natural Gas Limited (MNGL) for setting up of compressed natural gas (CNG) stations across the city. According to MNGL, the civic body has agreed to lease its land at locations including Pathardi, Panchavati and Adgaon, amongst others, to set up CNG stations to dispense the green fuel to the city buses.

NMC has decided to run CNG buses in different city routes, which will take over the city bus services from Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation. MNGL will start the work to establish these stations as soon it gets the possession of the land leased by the civic body.

MNGL is further working to establish a liquefied natural gas (LNG) plant at Pathardi area, which is expected to be commissioned by February 2021. It would convert LNG into CNG and piped natural gas (PNG) before it is supplied to the CNG stations.
