The Eastern Zonal Bench of the National Green Tribunal (NGT) has asked the West Bengal government to submit a status report on the project to bring compressed natural gas (CNG) to Kolkata and other parts of the state.
NGT has asked the West Bengal government to bring on record, the district-wise action plan to lay CNG pipelines. Meanwhile, three other states involved in the 858-km natural gas pipeline project, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and Jharkhand have completed the process of land acquisition.
