In a recent development, Metropolitan Transport Corporation (MTC) has signed agreement with Torrent Gas Chennai Private Limited and Think Gas for development of two compressed natural gas (CNG) stations at Ambattur and Varadharajapuram bus depot, respectively.
MTC is planning to convert 240 diesel-run buses into CNG powered vehicles. As per the agreement, Torrent Gas would manage operations in Chennai and Tiruvallur regions while Think Gas would handle Kancheepuram and Chengalpet regions.
