Reportedly, more than 24,000 households in Nashik have opted for piped natural gas (PNG) for cooking purposes. The households are spread over Nashik Road, Indiranagar,Gangapur Road, Sharanpur Road etc.

Maharashtra Natural Gas Limited (MGNL) is laying underground pipelines in the city to supply PNG. It is working to create a facility at the Pathardi Phata in Nashik to process liquefied natural gas (LNG) into CNG and PNG. It is expected that the city will receive PNG supply by the end of financial year 2020-21.

MGNL has already started CNG supply for vehicles at Sinnar and Igatpuri in the rural areas of Nashik district.
