The Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas (MoPNG) is planning to amend the Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board (PNGRB) Act to bring privately operated pipelines under the PNGRB’s oversight.
Currently, these pipelines are used for internal company operations and are not legally under the existing Act. The proposed changes would aim to allow reclassification of such pipelines as common or contract carriers, enabling third-party access and promoting fair trade and competition.
