Ministry of Environment Forest and Climate Change (MoEFCC) has granted Environmental Clearance (EC) and Coastal Regulation Zone (CRZ) clearance for expansion for the Ennore LNG Terminal.
Proposal for the same was submitted in November 2025.
Indian Oil LNG Private Limited (IOLPL), joint venture (JV) of Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) is planning to expand its Ennore LNG Terminal by increasing the capacity from 5 million metric tonnes per annum (mmtpa) to 10 mmtpa and regasification capacity from 20 million metric standard cubic metre per day (mmscmd) to 40 mmscmd at an estimated cost of Rs 34 billion. The terminal is located in Ennore, Thiruvallur District of Tamil Nadu.
