India’s natural gas consumption falls by 5.9 per cent in March 2023

India’s natural gas consumption decreased by 5.9 per cent to 5.12 billion cubic meters (bcm) in March 2023 on year on year (YoY) basis.

The country’s imports of liquefied natural gas (LNG) reduced by 15.2 per cent to 2.23 bcm as compared to March 2022. Meanwhile, the domestic consumption and imports during the full year April 2022 to March 2023, fell by 6 per cent and 14.1 per cent, respectively.
