IGX trade volumes reaches 79 per cent in April 

The Indian Gas Exchange (IGX) trade volume reached 79 per cent in April 2026 reaching approximately 215.16 million metric standard cubic metres (MMSCM) .

Besides, the benchmark gas price index (GIXI) jumped 58 per cent to $16.9 per MMBtu. Of which 53 per cent of the volume consisted of domestic high-pressure high-temperature (HPHT) gas, largely used by city gas distributors.
