Indian Gas Exchange Limited (IGX) has initiated trading of small-scale liquefied natural gas (LNG) contracts with Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board’s (PNGRB) approval. It will help address the growing demand for natural gas in areas not linked to the national gas grid.

Initially launched at Dahej and Hazira LNG terminals, these contracts will target industries and city gas distribution (CGD) companies without access to pipeline networks. It encompasses daily, fortnightly and monthly contracts.

Besides, it is likely to expand services to Dhamra, Mundra, Ennore and Kochi terminals along with on-land small-scale LNG stations at Vijaipur.

IGX stands as the country’s first automated national-level gas exchange designed for the physical delivery of natural gas.
