In the newly allocated geographical areas (GAs), Indraprastha Gas Limited (IGL) has started sale of compressed natural gas (CNG) at eight oil marketing companies’ outlets and four Dealer Owned-Dealer Operated (DODO) stations in Rewari and sale of piped natural gas to domestic households. Further, it has commissioned six CNG stations in Gurugram GA. IGL was authorized for Karnal GA in the 8th round of bidding by PNGRB wherein it has commissioned six CNG stations. Further, IGL has been authorised for Meerut (except area already authorised), Muzaffarnagar and Shamli GAs in the 9th round of bidding in which IGL has commissioned eight CNG stations.

IGL has been authorised for Kaithal, Kanpur (except area already authorised), Fatehpur and Hamirpur and Ajmer, Pali and Rajsamand areas in the 10th round of bidding by Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board. It has started sale of CNG in Kaithal and Kanpur (except area already authorised), Fatehpur and Hamirpur GA.

At present, Indraprastha Gas Limited (IGL) is operating in Delhi, Noida, Greater Noida, Ghaziabad, Rewari, Karnal, Kaithal, Kanpur and Muzaffarnagar with about 555 CNG stations, 1.38 million residential consumers and about 5,700 industrial/commercial customers. Besides, it is fuelling the largest CNG bus fleet in the world.
