Reportedly, Indraprastha Gas Limited (IGL) has provided record 0.375 million new connections for piped cooking gas to households during the financial year 2021-22. Despite the challenges on account of the pandemic and high input gas cost, IGL achieved gross turnover of Rs 84.43 billion and profit after tax (PAT) was registered at Rs 13.15 billion in 2021-22.

The consolidated PAT of IGL after considering the contribution of the associate companies namely, Central UP Gas Limited and Maharashtra Natural Gas Limited stood at Rs 15.02 billion. As of March 31, 2022, the net worth of the company was over Rs 69 billion. IGL plans to achieve more sustainable growth in 2022-23 as well. The company is exploring the possibility of putting up a green hydrogen generation plant for blending with natural gas.
