In a notable development, Indraprastha Gas Limited (IGL) has opened two more compressed natural gas (CNG) stations in Kanpur geographic area. One CNG station is located in Bindki while the other is located in Khaga, Fatehpur.
IGL is an Indian natural gas distribution company that supplies natural gas as cooking and vehicular fuel. Established in 1998, the company operates primarily in Delhi-NCR including neighbouring cities like Noida, Ghaziabad, Rewari, Gurugram etc. As of May 2022, number of CNG stations being operated by IGL stands at 659 and number of CNG vehicles in Delhi, Noida, Greater Noida, Ghaziabad, Hapur, Muzaffarnagar, Shamli, Meerut, Kanpur, Fatehpur, Hamirpur, Rewari, Gurugram, Karnal and Kaithal stands at around 1,424,500.
