The outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic has flooded the Indian City Gas Distribution (CGD) sector with Force majeure notices, demand destruction, labour shortage and liquidity crunch. The activity in the sector in terms of sale of natural gas has declined considerably. Only about 10 per cent of CNG stations are operating in any given area due to decreased mobility across different sectors. Besides, other functions of CGD companies such as natural gas marketing, operations and internal approvals, and issued and awarded contracts have also been impacted, resulting in extension of timelines. In this video, Ankit Gupta, Managing Consultant, Oil & Gas, ICF, highlights the impact of COVID-19 on the CGD sector, and how it has affected the business activities of companies engaged in the sector. This video was published by ICF and is available on their website.
