Gujarat state government has reduced the value added tax (VAT) on compressed natural gas (CNG) and piped natural gas (PNG) by 10 per cent. The decision has been taken amid rising natural gas prices in the nation.
The tax reduction will reduce the price of CNG by Rs 6-7 per unit and that of PNG by Rs 5-6 per unit. The present CNG prices in the state are more than Rs 80 per kg,
