Gujarat Gas reported 47.50 per cent fall in standalone net profit to Rs 2.49 billion on a 43.80 per cent rise in revenue from operations to Rs 36.86 billion in second quarter of financial year (FY) 2021-22 over the corresponding quarter of FY 2020-21. Profit before tax during second quarter of FY 2021-22 stood at Rs 3.34 billion, down by 47.3 per cent from Rs 6.34 billion on a year-on-year (YoY) basis.

The company’s total gas sales volumes for the quarter ended on September 30, 2021 was at 11.41 million standard cubic meters per day (mmscmd) as against 9.85 mmscmd in the quarter ended on September 30, 2020, up 15.85 per cent on a YoY basis. Of total gas sales volumes, Industrial sales volume was 8.69 mmscmd (up 10.6 per cent YoY), compressed natural gas (CNG) sales volume was 1.96 mmscmd (up 53.1 per cent YoY), piped natural gas (PNG) – domestic sales volume was 0.64 mmscmd and PNG – commercial sales volume was 0.12 mmscmd (up 71.4 per cent YoY) during the period under review. Further, the company also added 26 new CNG stations during the quarter.
