Gruner Renewable Energy (GRE) is planning to set up 100 bio-compressed natural gas (CNG) plants across the country by the end of financial year (FY) 2023-24. It is expected to entail an investment of Rs 100 billion.

Besides, the company recently collaborated with a German company, Bioenergy Germany to provide technology and engineering design for these biomass based bio-CNG plants. Moreover, it has already received around 42 firm contracts to build such plants.
