In a recent development, GAIL Gas Limited (GGL) and National Institute of Technology- Karnataka (NIT-K) have signed agreement for supply of domestic piped natural gas (D-PNG) at the institute quarters.

GGL plans to provide 0.35 million D-PNG connections in Dakshina Kannada district over a period of eight years. In Phase-I, it will provide connections in Surathkal, Mukka, Mulki, Kulai and Bondel areas. Besides, it is also planning to establish 100 compressed natural gas (CNG) stations in the district by 2030.
