In a recent development, GAIL (India) Limited signed a concession agreement with Greater Bengaluru Authority (GBA) and Bengaluru Solid Waste Management Limited (BSWML) for setting up a compressed bio gas (CBG) plant at KCDC area of Haralakunte Village in Bangalore for a period of 25 years. 

As per the agreement, GBA would provide 18 acres of land on permissive use basis and BSWML would supply 300 tonnes per day (tpd) of segregated municipal solid waste for producing 12.6 tpd of CBG. The plant would also produce 22 tpd of fermented organic manure (FOM) promoting circular economy and sustainable agriculture.
