In a notable development, the first compressed natural gas (CNG) station of Nalanda, Gaya, Sheikhpura and Jehanabad districts was opened in Bihar Sharif on June 13, 2021. The target is to establish 25 more such stations in Nalanda. Work has commenced on the plan to open a total of 46 CNG stations in Nalanda and Gaya in the next eight years. Meanwhile, the second CNG fuel station is expected to open at Sherghati in Gaya district in the coming week.
Natural gas will be supplied to the CNG station in Nalanda as per the requirement of vehicles in the region and four points have been installed at the station for CNG. Meanwhile, consumers started buying CNG at the rate of Rs 65 per kg from the station.
