Enerinfra Private Limited has emerged as the lowest bidder (L1) for balance horizontal directional drilling (HDD) crossings works for Krishnagiri-Coimbatore section under Phase-II of the Kochi-Kanjirakode-Bangalore/Mangalore Gas Pipeline Project. The firm has quoted an amount of Rs 93.92 million. Besides, Bluegrass Technologies Private Limited (L2) and Vichitra Constructions Private Limited (L3) have quoted an amount of Rs 126.62 million and Rs 138.06 million, respectively. Bids for the same were invited by Engineers India Limited (EIL) in September 2025.
The scope of work involves survey, data collection, geotechnical investigation, design and detailed engineering, procurement and supply of materials, string preparation and installation of the pipeline section by HDD method at five crossings, installation of carbon steel (CS) conduit using HDD, pre-commissioning works, cathodic protection works.
The crossings include:
Part A: 24” outside diameter (OD) with centreline chainage and HDD length of 106.287 km and 250 m at NH-544 Toll Plaza.
24” OD with centreline chainage and HDD length of 113.500 km and 300 m at NH-544 Road crossing.
24” OD with centreline chainage and HDD length of 140.49 km and 220 m at NH-544 Road crossing.
Part B: 24” OD with centreline chainage and HDD length of 139.700 km and 475 m at Madukkarai Toll Plaza.
24” OD with centreline chainage and HDD length of 146.250 km and 250 m at Bridge culvert.
The duration of the contract is two months.
Kochi-Kanjirakode-Bangalore/Mangalore Gas Pipeline Project, being implemented by GAIL (India) Limited, involves construction of a 1,156 km long pipeline with a capacity of 16 million metric standard cubic metre per day (mmscmd) including 4 mmscmd as common carrier and pipeline design pressure of 92 kg/square cm (sq cm) passing through Kerala, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu.
