According to reports, the country’s gas consumption has increased by 11 per cent on year-on-year basis in 2024, driving an increase in liquefied natural gas (LNG) imports to meet the growing demand across various sectors.
The industrial sector recorded 22 per cent growth in gas consumption, refining saw 26 per cent rise, while the residential and commercial sector grew by 14 per cent, and the transport sector by 12 per cent.
