Construction work has commenced on the biogas plants at Sarurpur Kala and Khatta Prahladpur villages in Baghpat district of Uttar Pradesh.
The cow dung based biogas plants will provide domestic gas to villagers through pipelines in both the villages at a cheaper rate. Besides, each plant will also produce 5 kilowatt power supply.
The plants are being set up under Swachh Bharat Mission Phase-II. Under this, the Government of Uttar Pradesh had planned to set up biogas plants in gram panchayats at an investment of Rs 2.4 million each.
