Prayagraj Municipal Corporation is likely to commence commercial operations at the Naini bio- compressed natural gas (CNG) plant soon.

The plant has the capacity to process 200 tonnes per day (tpd) wet waste to produce 21.5 tonnes of bio-CNG, 109 tonnes of solid organic fertiliser and 100 tonnes of liquid organic fertiliser.

The facility aligns with the Prime Minister’s visionary “Waste to Wealth” initiative, transforming municipal solid waste into valuable resources.

The plant was set up under public private partnership (PPP) model. The municipal corporation had provided 12.49 acres of land near Arail Ghat in Jahangirabad, Naini, for the project, while EverEnviro Resource Management Private Limited would oversee the operations for 25 years. It entailed an investment of Rs 1.77 billion.
