The Union government laid the foundation stone for the Bankura and Purulia City Gas Distribution (CGD) Project on July 18, 2025.
The project would provide domestic, commercial and industrial piped natural gas (PNG) connections along with establishing compressed natural gas (CNG) stations across the Bankura and Purulia districts of West Bengal. It entails an investment of Rs 19.5 billion.
