The Union Government has inaugurated 17 compressed natural gas (CNG) stations in Hassan district of Karnataka. 

Besides, over 100 more CNG stations are likely to be set up along with providing piped natural gas (PNG) connectivity to almost every household in Hassan geographical area (GA) soon.

AG&P Pratham, a leading city gas distribution (CGD) firm, is working on developing CGD infrastructure in 12 GAs covering 35 districts across the country. Besides, out of 35 districts, 15 belong to the state of Karnataka. Moreover, it is planning to spend around Rs 150 billion in coming years to establish around 1,500 more CNG stations and provide PNG connectivity to over 10 million households.
