The scope of the compressed biogas (CBG)-city gas distribution (CGD) synchronisation scheme has been expanded to include the injection of Compressed Biogas (CBG) into the gas pipeline network. The move is in line with the revised scheme guidelines for direct pipeline injection (DPI) issued on August 27, 2025.
Further, the scheme has also been extended until December 31, 2047.
The CBG-CGD Synchronisation Scheme aims to create an ecosystem for producing and using CBG by connecting it to the city gas network for use in compressed natural gas (CNG) and piped natural gas (PNG).
