In a recent development, Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) has signed a total of five tripartite agreements for Lakhimpur geographical area (GA) and Amethi-Pratapgarh-Raebareli GA.

Lakhimpur GA: BPCL signed three tripartite agreements for the development of 10 tonnes per day (tpd) Compressed Biogas (CBG) Plant at Pilibhit with Jio-BP and two 12 tpd CBG plants at Sitapur with Ladelite Power. 

The plants are likely to be operational by July 2026. 

Amethi-Pratapgarh-Raebareli GA: BPCL signed two tripartite agreements for the development of two 5 tpd CBG plants at Ayodhya and Haidergarh in Barabanki district with Reliance Industries Limited (RIL). 

Supply is expected to begin from April 2026.
