In a notable development, the Government of Delhi has inaugurated a compressed biogas (CBG) plant at Ghogha Dairy in Delhi.

The plant has a waste processing capacity of 100 tonnes per day (tpd). It will also provide 4 tpd compressed natural gas (CNG) which will be stored at the integrated pump. 

The project was implemented by Indraprastha Gas Limited (IGL) who provided the funding in collaboration with Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) who provided the land required for the plant. The project entailed a cost of Rs 300 million.
