Bengal Gas Corporation Limited (BGCL) has commissioned a compressed natural gas (CNG) station at South Bengal State Transport Corporation (SBSTC) depot in Belgharia.
The station was developed through a joint venture (JV) of Bengal Gas Corporation Limited (BGCL) and South Bengal State Transport Corporation (SBSTC) at an estimated cost of Rs 32 million.
BGCL has about 33 operational CNG stations across its geographical area (GA) where three are already operating from state transport depots at West Bengal Transport Corporation (WBTC) Kasba depot, North Bengal State Transport Corporation (NBSTC) Ultadanga depot and WBTC Tollygunge depot and Belgharia is the fourth.
BGCL is planning to set up CNG facilities WBTC Nilgunj and Barasat depots, SBSTC Howrah depot and Santragachi bus depot.
