Around 3,800 households in Ponda town in Goa have been connected to the piped natural gas (PNG) network. The households connected to the PNG network consumed 22,500 standard cubic meter of gas till March 2021. The network is connected to the existing 175-km-long pipeline that connects Vasco to 30-inch Dabhol-Bengaluru natural gas pipeline. Goa Natural Gas is targeting to connect all households in the town to the PNG network by end of 2021.

Goa Natural Gas is a joint venture of Gas Authority of India Limited and Bharat Petroleum Limited and launched the gas distribution project for Ponda town in May 2017. The entity has been authorised by the Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board to lay piped gas network in North Goa.
