AG&P Pratham, India, the city gas distribution arm of the Singapore-based AG&P Group, has opened the first compressed natural gas (CNG) station in Jodhpur, Rajasthan. The development is in line with the government’s vision of transforming the country into a gas-based economy.

AG&P Pratham’s CNG station is co-located with Indian Oil Corporation Limited’s station (IOCL) at COCO Bhagat Ki Kothi, Main Basni Road, near the diesel loco shed. It is first of the series of seven CNG stations expected to open in 2020 itself. Of the seven stations, two will be co-located with Hindustan Petroleum Corporation at Lal Sagar Road and Main Pal Road, one will be located at Salawas, another one will be co-located with IOCL at Mandore, and three stations will be co-located with Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited at Soor Sagar, Saraswati Nagar and Jaljog Circle. The rapid development of CNG stations across Jodhpur will enable drivers and vehicle owners to generate higher savings and significantly increase their earnings.

As a part of its future expansion plans, AG&P Pratham will open nine more CNG stations in 2021. Of these, two stations will be wholly-owned by the company itself.
