In a notable development, AG&P Pratham is planning to invest up to Rs  80 billion investment for expanding its city gas distribution (CGD) network across the country over a period of three years.

By December 2024, it had already invested USD1 billion and plans to invest additional USD1 billion in coming years.

Currently, AG&P operates 460 compressed natural gas (CNG) stations and 18 liquefied natural gas (LNG) stations. It plans to increase its CNG stations to 800 while expanding its LNG network.

Besides, it is acquiring Jaigarh LNG terminal in Maharashtra from Darshan Hiranandani’s H-Energy to strengthen the company’s CGD expansion.

AG&P Pratham holds 25-year exclusive rights from the Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board (PNGRB) to develop CGD infrastructure and supply gas in its authorised geographic areas (GAs) across 37 districts in five states of Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala, Rajasthan and Tamil Nadu.

In the coming years, AG&P Pratham aims to establish a vast network, including over 24,000 inch-kilometres of steel pipelines, more than 2,000 CNG and LNG stations, and services reaching over 150 million customers across 324,000 square kilometres.
