The union government has inaugurated the Dhamra- Angul section spanning about 412 km under the Jagadishpur- Haldia- Bokaro- Dhamra gas pipeline.

The project, being implemented by GAIL (India) Limited, involves construction of a 3,174 km long pipeline from Jagdishpur in Uttar Pradesh to Haldia in West Bengal at an investment of Rs 160 billion. The pipeline extends through Hazira- Bijaipur- Jagdishpur pipeline. Phase I has a capacity of 16 million metric standard cubic metre per day (mmscmd) which is further augmented to 32 mmscmd in Phase II.
