Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority (GNIDA) is planning to establish a 300 tonnes per day (tpd) compressed biogas (CBG) plant at the Astauli dumpsite in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh.
The plant would process municipal solid waste (MSW) and convert it into compressed biogas, a cleaner fuel option for distribution through city gas distribution (CGD) networks. The estimated cost of the project is Rs 800 million.
Besides, the authority is soon likely to issue a revised request for proposal (RFP) for the same.
Additionally, a separate 300 tpd waste-to-bio-CNG plant is being developed by Reliance Bioenergy, is already under construction and is expected to commence operations by January 2027.
