Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) has inaugurated the first piped natural gas (PNG) connection in Raiganj, North Dinajpur district of West Bengal, as part of its city gas distribution (CGD) project in the region.
Around 1,300 households have been connected to PNG supply at Kanki in North Dinajpur and Jalpaiguri districts. Besides, the CGD project is currently in progress in Siliguri with plans drawn for Bagdogra in Darjeeling district. HPCL has also signed an agreement with Luxmi Township and Holding Limited for supplying PNG to the Uttorayon township in Siliguri’s Matigara through a decompression unit.
Additionally, the defence estate officer of Siliguri Circle has approved PNG connection for the Sevoke military station on the outskirts of Siliguri.
