The foundation stone was laid for the city gas distribution (CGD) network of Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) in Nilgiris and Erode geographical area in Tamil Nadu on March 11, 2026. It is expected to entail an investment of Rs 36.85 billion.
The project is expected to provide piped natural gas (PNG) to almost 900,000 families and various commercial entities, and transform the Nilgiris and Erode districts.
