The Government of India (GoI) has allocated Rs 4.91 billion for the implementation of Mizoram-Tripura section under North-East Natural Gas Pipeline Grid Project. 

The pipeline would originate from Panisagar Receiving Terminal in Tripura connecting Kanhmun, Zawlnuam, Kawrthah, Tuidam and Darlak with Mamit in Mizoram.

The North-East natural gas pipeline grid involves development, operation and maintenance (O&M) of a natural gas pipeline connecting eight states viz. Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim and Tripura at an investment of Rs 100 billion. It is being implemented by IGGL, a joint venture (JV) company of Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL), Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited (ONGC), GAIL (India) Limited, Oil India Limited (OIL) and Numaligarh Refinery Limited (NRL).
