Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC) has signed memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Oil India Limited (OIL) for the development of 200 metric tonnes (mt) compressed biogas (CBG) plant in the city.
As per the MoU, CMC would supply segregated solid waste, while OIL would design, finance, construct , operate and maintain (O&M) the plant. Besides, OIL is likely to invest Rs 1.5 billion for the project.
The plant, with production capacity of 10 to 15 tonnes per day (tpd) of CBG, is planned to be constructed on 11 acres of land in Ward-59 near Jagatpur in Cuttack, Odisha. The duration for completion of work is 22 months.
