As per Petroleum Planning and Analysis Cell (PPAC), around 6,088 compressed natural gas (CNG) stations have been commissioned till November 2023. Moreover, the number of domestic piped natural gas (PNG) connections rose to 11.9 million, while commercial and industrial connections increased to 39,586 and 17,648, respectively.
Besides, the country’s natural gas consumption increased to 43,696 million metric standard cubic meters per day (mmscmd) during April- November 2023 as against 24,081 mmscmd domestic production.
