India and Brazil are set to work together to develop India- Brazil alliance for bioenergy and biofuels and also establish a virtual India-Brazil Centre of Excellence on Ethanol. The countries also plan to make sustainable bioenergy and biofuels an integral part of global energy sector like transport, aviation, shipping etc. The promotion of sustainable bioenergy and biofuel at a global level will bring technological and industrial innovation, boost rural development, create job opportunities and reduce local as well as global emissions. The two countries have also agreed to work on policies, implementation steps for sustainable aviation fuels, second generation ethanol and synthetic biology cooperation.
